Geotrupes stercorarius
UK - adult beetle size approx 2cm
These beetles are known as Dor Beetles - they suck up the juices from animal droppings and take it underground to spit back out and line breeding chambers & tunnels with it. We keep ours in a 6" depth of old used flake soil & poo from the millipede tubs and once a week I tip a scoop of fresh rabbit poo on top, they really are fascinating to watch.
Sold as larvae in groups of 5 or 12
Dried Rabbit Poo - from our own rabbits, this is dried thoroughly before bagging to reduce mould & will need to be rehydrated before feeding to your dung beetles. Store in a cool dark place & only soak what you need at the time.
