Caterpillars

We've been raising caterpillars for years but I've finally added them to the website and expanded our selection to include some of our smaller species that you don't see very often - we will be adding lots more species in 2023 as our youngest son has been working hard to recognise & identify them all in various stages of development and he is keen to learn more.
Please see our moths pages for photos.

Spare pupae will be added to our shop in November & eggs from most species will be added to our shop throughout spring & summer.  Occasionally we will have some 2nd generation eggs / larvae available in autumn.

Hawk Moths
We keep about 6 different species of Hawk Moth, some are native to the U.K and some are migrants that can be seen over here in the summer but won't usually survive our winters. All of our migrant moths are raised at a steady temperature of 18 - 20*C

Other Moths

This page shows all of our smaller native moths that are in our keeping. The smaller they are, the smaller their eggs are so they can be challenging to raise but some of the caterpillars are quite unique.
