Psuedoproscopia latirostris - Horsehead Grasshopper
Peru
Adult Size: females 15cm / males 9cm
Feed on: Bramble, Oak, Rose, pyracantha etc
We keep all our nymphs in glass tanks or ventilated plastic tubs for the first 2 moults to allow them more humidity, as they get older we move them to a net cage with a 10 - 12cm deep substrate tub for egg laying.
Sexed Pairs will be fresh young juveniles / adults.
Nymphs will be sold as unsexed.
Eggs will be sold with a month-of-lay attached to the tub (I only check the laying box once a month) The number of eggs in a clutch varies, the photo is an average example.
Eggs must be buried in damp substrate and kept at about 22 - 25*C (I use approx 8cm of coco fibre & vermiculite as that is what they are laid in) My hatching time seems to be approx 4 months in these conditions.
